Apna Davai Dukaan

We opened Apna Davai Dukaan right across from CIMS Hospital in Gondpara to help out the folks coming and going from the clinic. It is in Ward No- 24 on Bashir Ahmed Parishar Marg, which stays quite busy during the day. Our shop is small and packed with shelves from floor to ceiling. It might look a bit disorganized to someone else, but we have a system for finding everything. We spend a lot of time talking to neighbors who stop in for their regular medicine or just to ask a quick question about a tonic. It is not a big chain store, just a local chemist shop where we know many of our customers by their first names. Sometimes the delivery trucks are late because of the traffic on the main road, but we try to keep the essentials in stock at all times. The lights inside are a bit bright and the floor is slightly uneven in the back corner, but it is a good enough space for what we do. Dealing with prescriptions all day keeps us on our toes. We do not do much fancy advertising; people just see our sign when they leave the hospital or walk down the Marg. It is a straightforward business and we just try to be helpful to the people living around Ward 24 who need their supplies quickly.
