Our office is located at B-250 in Ujjwal Nagar. It’s right within the NTPC Sipat area, which is about a thirty-minute drive from the main part of Bilaspur city. Living and working in a township like this is a bit different than being in the middle of a town. Everything is very structured here. We spend a lot of our time coordinating with the people at the power plant and making sure our crew is where they need to be. The sun in Chhattisgarh is no joke, especially in May and June, so the office is usually our refuge during the hottest parts of the day. Inside, it's just a regular setup with some old computers and a big table for maps and drawings. We have a small kitchenette in the back where we make coffee. Most of the staff stays in the quarters nearby, so we are all pretty close. We see each other at the market or the park in the evenings. It’s a quiet life compared to the big metro projects. Sometimes we get visitors from the head office and we have to tidy up the files a bit. Otherwise, it’s just us doing the daily tasks of managing the site and checking the inventory. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but it's a functional space that suits us just fine. We have a few trees outside that give some shade to the parked bikes. It is a peaceful place to get our work done without distractions.
