Finding us isn’t too hard if you know where the Tiwari Kirana Store is. We are right near House Number 700 in Jorapara Sarkanda. The Jora Talab is just a short walk away and sometimes we go there to clear our heads after a long day. Bilaspur has a lot of little pockets like this where things feel a bit slower. Our office is basically just a room in a residential area. We share the space with a lot of files and a printer that jams every third page. The neighborhood is mostly families so it’s quiet until the kids get home from school in the afternoon. We have a small porch where we keep our shoes before going inside. The walls are a pale yellow that’s started to peel a bit in the corners from the damp. We don’t have a big sign out front so people usually just look for the house number. Sometimes the local cows block the path to the door and we have to wait for them to move. We’ve been working out of this spot in Chhattisgarh for a while now and it feels like part of the family. It’s not a big office with cubicles and fancy lights. We just have a couple of fans and some old wooden tables. It’s a bit crowded when everyone is here at once but we manage to get things done. We usually have the radio playing softly.
