Bharat Aluminium Company(Balco)

We’re over at C-914 in New Krishna Vihar, which is part of the NTPC Colony in Jamnipali, Korba. This is the office for Bharat Aluminium Company(Balco) as everyone calls it around here. It’s a quiet enough spot compared to the main plant gates which are always buzzing. The colony is actually quite nice, with some trees and a bit of open space. We handle a lot of the administrative side of things from this office. Our team is small, mostly made up of people who have been with the company for a decade or more. We don't have a fancy corporate lobby or a receptionist in a suit. You just walk in and someone will be sitting there at a desk ready to help. We spend a lot of our time on the phone or checking through long lists of inventory. Chhattisgarh summers are brutal, so we stay inside with the fans on mostly. Most of our work comes from long-standing relationships within the industry that have been built over years. We just try to be practical and honest about what we can do. There’s no point in making things sound better than they really are. It’s just metal and logistics. We keep the records and make sure things are running okay. It’s a decent place to work for us.
