Deepak Kirana Store

I run Deepak Kirana Store over in Lakhni Bigha Village, which is part of the Dinapur Cum Khagaul Tehsil. We are situated in Ward No. 8, right near Ravi Traders. It is a humble little grocery shop where I spend most of my waking hours. I have stacks of lentils, sugar, and spices lined up against the walls. It gets a bit narrow inside when more than three people are shopping at once. I try to keep everything clean, but with the dirt road outside, dust always finds its way in. Dealing with the wholesalers takes up my Monday mornings, so I can have fresh stock for the rest of the week. Many of the families around here have been buying from me since I first opened my doors. We talk about their kids and how the crops are doing while I weigh out their flour. I don't use a computer for the accounts; I still use my old notebook and a pen. It works fine for me. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to use a small lamp to see the labels. It is just a part of living here. I enjoy the routine of opening up early and sweeping the front step. It is not a glamorous job, but it provides for my family and helps the neighbors get what they need without traveling too far. We are just a regular village shop doing our best every single day to stay stocked.
