Our shop is right near the railway crossing here in Bikaner. If you have ever been stuck waiting for the train to pass, you have probably seen our sign. It’s a loud place because of the tracks, but we are used to it by now. The trains go by all day and night and the bells are always ringing. We spend most of our time at the desk answering calls and writing down names for trips. It’s a simple setup, nothing too modern or high-tech. We have a few chairs for people to sit while they wait for their paperwork or their vehicle to arrive. Dealing with traffic around the crossing is just part of the daily routine for us. Sometimes people stop in just to ask for directions because they are lost near the tracks. We don't mind. It feels good to be a part of this neighborhood. The dust from the road gets everywhere so we are always cleaning the glass. We started this because we know the roads around Bikaner well. It’s hard work and the hours are long but that’s the business. We don't do much advertising, mostly it is just people seeing the shop when they are driving through the crossing area. It’s a practical location for a travel business like ours, even with all the noise from the engines and the heavy gates.
