Bharat Canvas

Bharat Canvas is located over in Marwari Pati. We are pretty close to the 80 Feet Road, which makes it easy for trucks to get in and out. The shop smells like heavy fabric and thread most of the time. We have rolls of canvas leaning against the walls and sewing machines that have been running for years. It’s a dusty place because of all the fibers in the air. We make and sell all kinds of covers and bags. It’s a family-run sort of feeling even if we aren't all related. We’ve been in Marwari Pati for a long time. People around here know us for the heavy-duty stuff we put together. The floor is usually covered in scraps of material that we sweep up at the end of the day. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just walk in or call us. The noise from the 80 Feet Road is always there in the background. We have a couple of large cutting tables that take up most of the room. It’s not a place where you’d go to find something pretty, it’s all about utility here. If you need something that lasts, we usually have the materials to make it. We just keep working through the pile of orders every day. It’s a simple life in the shop. We drink a lot of tea while we work and try to get everything finished before it gets too dark to see the stitches properly.
