Ekta Chemicals

Ekta Chemicals is tucked away in Pareek Chowk, over in the Old Bikaner area. We are really close to the Bheruji Temple, which is the main landmark everyone uses to find us. If you get lost, just ask anyone for the temple and you will see our place nearby. It’s an old part of the city, so the streets are narrow and have a lot of character. We deal with various chemicals from this small shop and warehouse setup. It’s not a huge operation, but we stay busy enough. The building has been in the family for a long time. We have shelves lined with different containers and the smell of the shop is quite distinct, as you can imagine with chemicals. We spend a lot of time talking to local tradesmen who need specific supplies for their work. We don’t do much fancy advertising; people mostly hear about us from their neighbors or other shopkeepers in the chowk. It’s a very traditional way of doing business. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded inside when a few customers arrive at once, but we manage. We like being in Old Bikaner because there is a sense of history here. We keep our records in big handwritten books mostly, though we have a computer now too. It’s a simple life, opening the shutters every morning and seeing the same faces walk by the temple on their way to pray.
