Dudy Law Chamber

Dudy Law Chamber is right on Nokha Road, so we are very close to the bus stand. You can hear the engines and the conductors shouting all day long. It's a busy spot and there's always a layer of dust on the windows from the road. Inside, it’s a bit quieter but not by much. We have these old wooden desks that are covered in files and legal papers that seem to never go away. The chairs for visitors have seen better days, but they do the job for anyone who needs to sit while we look something up. We spend a lot of time just sorting through folders and making notes. The fan on the ceiling wobbles a little when it’s on high, but it keeps the air moving during the hotter months. We get our tea from the stall just down the road and that’s usually the highlight of the afternoon. The walls are painted a plain color and we have a few shelves that are sagging under the weight of the law books. It isn't a modern office with glass walls or anything like that. It’s just a workspace where we get things done and try to stay organized amidst all the paperwork. Sometimes the bus schedules change and the crowd outside gets even louder, but we’re used to it by now. We just keep our heads down and focus on the documents in front of us.
