Yunani Dawakhana

Out here in Inampura, things move a bit slower than the big cities. This dawakhana is our life’s work. We are right in Bijnor, specifically in the Inampura area. It is easy to find if you know the neighborhood well. We have jars of all different things lining the wooden shelves. Some of them have been there for years. People come from the surrounding villages too, not just from Bijnor town itself. They usually have a lot to say about their crops or the weather before they even get to why they are visiting. We listen to all of it because it matters to them. It is just how it works here. The shop isn't modern at all. We have old wooden counters and some worn-out stools for people to sit on. It smells like spices and earth inside the room. That is the way a traditional dawakhana should be, I think. We open up after the morning prayers and stay until dusk usually. Sometimes people knock on the door late at night if there is an emergency. We try to help when we can. The 246701 area is where we’ve always been located. My father taught me everything I know about this work. Now I am doing the same for the next generation. It is honest work and it keeps us busy. We don't use any fancy talk or try to sell things people don't need. They come, they get what they require, and they go home.
