Shri Ramganga Foundation

If you ever find yourself in the Old Market area of Kalagarh in Bijnor, you’ll probably run into us. Shri Ramganga Foundation is pretty much a local fixture there. We chose the name because the river is such a big part of life here, even if we are mostly focused on the town itself. The market is always loud and full of people, which suits us just fine. We operate out of a small space right in the middle of all that noise. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll find people in ties. We are usually in our everyday clothes, dealing with whatever local problem has cropped up that morning. We don’t have any grand plans to expand or become some huge organization. We just want to make sure things are a little bit better in our own corner of Bijnor. Sometimes we are helping with small local projects, and other times we are just a place for people to come and talk. It’s very informal. We don’t have a lot of paperwork or complicated processes. If someone needs help and we can do something about it, we usually just go ahead and do it. That’s the way things have always been done in the Old Market. We like being part of the daily rhythm of the town. It keeps us grounded and reminds us why we started this in the first place.
