Pinki Kumari

I've been here in Dhampur for quite a while now. My father is Chetan Swaroop and most people around the Nagar Palika Parishad area know us. It is a small place but we keep ourselves busy with whatever work comes our way. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit outside for a bit. Living in Bijnor has its own pace. It is not like the big cities you see on TV. We do things bit by bit here. My setup is simple and I don't really have a big fancy office or anything like that. Just a desk and my things. People stop by sometimes to ask about what I'm doing. I try to help out where I can. Life here moves along. You get to know your neighbors well. The weather gets really hot in the summer so we start work early in the morning to beat the sun. Then in the evening it gets a bit better. I’ve always stayed in this part of town and I don’t see myself moving anywhere else soon. It is home. I handle my work the way my father taught me, which is just being honest and showing up every day. There isn't much more to it than that. We just try to do a decent job so people don't have a reason to complain. It keeps the kitchen fire burning and the house running.
