Down in the village of Jevra Jahtoli Mustehkam, near Teh Hasanpur, you’ll find us at Sunil Kumar’s place. It’s a bit of a trek if you aren't from around here, but for the locals, it’s a standard stop. We don’t have a big office building with a glass front. Instead, we work out of a modest space that fits what we need. There are usually two or three of us around to help out with any questions. The village life is slow, and our work reflects that. We take our time with the entries and make sure everything is right before we close up for the night. The road outside can get muddy when it rains, so we have a mat at the door for everyone to wipe their feet. We don’t have any fancy marketing or big slogans. We just talk to people plainly and tell them how things work. Most of the folks who come in are our neighbors or people from the next village over. We know their families and they know ours. It’s a very close-knit way of doing things. We have a few plastic chairs for people to sit on while they wait. It’s not much, but it’s ours and we take care of the work as best as we can every single day. We are just here to help out the village folks and keep the books straight for everyone.
