Jainsons Brushes

If you walk through the Main Market in Bijnor, you’ll find us on Shekhan Street. We are Jainsons Brushes, and we’ve been part of this crowded area for a long time. Being near Ghass Mandi means there is always noise and people pushing past with carts and bags. Our shop is small, and every inch of wall space is used to hang different kinds of brushes. We have big ones for whitewashing and tiny ones for detail work or art. The wooden handles have a specific smell that I’ve grown used to over the years. It’s a very traditional part of the market, so things move in an old-fashioned way. We don’t have a computer system or anything like that; we just use a ledger and our memory to keep track of sales. Sometimes the street gets blocked by a delivery truck, and everything stops for twenty minutes while they unload. It can be frustrating, but that’s just life in Shekhan Street. Customers come in looking for something specific, and usually, they’ve been to three other shops before finding it here. We take some pride in having those odd items that others don’t bother with. The dust from the market settles on everything, so we spend a lot of time dusting off the stock with our own products. It’s a simple life, selling one brush at a time to the people of Bijnor who are painting their homes or working in their shops.
