Daily Health Care Clinic

Down on Police Choki Road in Nagina, that's where Daily Health Care Clinic is. It's a very busy street most days. You can see the police post right from our doorstep. Nagina has its own rhythm and pace. I usually walk to work because it's easier than finding a place for a cycle. The clinic is basically one main room and a small back area for storage. We keep things simple here. There's a long wooden bench for people to sit on while they wait their turn. I think the ceiling fan needs a bit of oil because it squeaks sometimes when it's on high. People in Nagina are hard workers. They don't want a lot of fuss or fancy talk. They just want to feel better and get back to their jobs. We open at the same time every morning without fail. Sometimes the street gets crowded with fruit carts and rickshaws. It can be a bit loud during the middle of the day. But we've been here long enough to be used to it. I like the way the light comes in during the afternoons. It hits the floor in a certain way. We don't have a big staff at all. It's just a few of us doing the work. We know all the neighbors. The shop next door sells good tea and snacks. We keep our records in big paper folders. Not everything is on a computer because this manual way works fine for us. It's just a local spot.
