Our clinic is located in Mohalla Patiya Para in Chandpur. It’s a small, quiet spot compared to the bigger cities. Most of the people who come here are our neighbors from the local streets. We’ve been operating out of this same building for years. It’s a simple setup with a few rooms for exams and a small area to sit and wait. We don’t have much in the way of decoration, just some old posters and a desk where we keep the register. The morning starts early here when the first few patients arrive before the sun is even fully up. We spend most of the day listening to people talk about their health problems. It’s a lot of the same stuff every day, but it matters to the folks living in Patiya Para. We know most of the families by name since they’ve been coming here for a generation or two. The building stays cool in the summer because of the thick walls. Sometimes we run out of chairs and people just lean against the wall while they wait. We aren’t trying to be anything other than a local clinic for the people around us. It’s just a steady, quiet life here in Chandpur, and we are glad to be part of it. The walk down the alley to get here is narrow, but everyone knows the way to our door by now.
