Out here in Mulasavalagi, things move a bit slower than in the big cities. Our office is part of the H.S. Biradar building, and it’s right in the middle of the Sindagi taluk. If you’re looking for us, you’ll probably see a few dusty bikes parked out front. Inside, it’s mostly just desks piled with blueprints and logbooks. We have a small crew working here in Bijapur, and most of us have been together for a long time. The dust from the roads often settles on the windows, so we spend a lot of time cleaning things up. It’s a quiet area for the most part, except when the local tractors rumble past. We don't really do the whole corporate dress code thing; it’s too warm and practical work clothes just make more sense. There is a tea stall nearby that serves the strongest coffee you’ve ever had, which is how we start most of our mornings. The walls have some old calendars and a few photos of projects we’ve finished in the district. We don't have a fancy board room, so we just pull up chairs in the main hall when we need to talk. It’s a basic setup but it gets the job done. Every day is different, depending on what supplies are arriving or which site needs attention. We like the pace here. It is just a bunch of regular people doing their work.
