Sambhram Grameen Vikas Foundation

We are over at number 30 in Adarsh Nagar, right on Ashram Road in Bijapur. It’s a decent-sized house that we’ve turned into the office for Sambhram Grameen Vikas Foundation. Living in Bijapur, you get used to the dust and the heat, but Ashram Road is usually a bit calmer than the main market areas. We don't have a fancy lobby or anything. You just walk in and you’ll see some of us working at a big wooden table. We started this because we saw things in the villages nearby that we thought we could help with. It’s not high-tech work. A lot of it is just visiting people, listening to their stories, and trying to find practical solutions to everyday problems. The office is often full of folders and maps of the local area. We don’t have a big team of experts, just local people who care about what happens here. Sometimes we sit out on the porch when it gets too stuffy inside. The neighbors often stop by to drop off news or just to say hello. We don’t spend money on advertising or anything like that. We figure if the work is good, people will find out about us soon enough. It’s a bit messy sometimes, and we aren't always the most organized, but we get the job done. That’s just how it goes for us here in Adarsh Nagar. We take things one day at a time.
