At Aks Aluminium & Hardwares, we spend most of our time dealing with metal. We are located at 489, Bs Road in Vijayapur. Being on BS Road means we get a lot of commercial traffic, which is good for us. The shop is often filled with the sound of cutting aluminium or the clanking of metal sheets. It can be quite loud, so we sometimes have to shout a bit to be heard over the noise. We have a lot of different sections for the aluminium profiles and then another area for the general hardware like hinges and handles. It is a lot of weight to move around, and my back definitely feels it at the end of the day. We don't have a polished showroom; it is more like a working warehouse where people can come in and see what we have. The floor is covered in tiny metal shavings most of the time, no matter how much we sweep. We don't have any big corporate goals or anything like that. We just want to get through the orders we have for the day and make sure everything is cut to the right size. Dealing with Vijayapur’s weather can be a challenge, especially when it’s humid and the metal gets slippery. But we’ve been here long enough to know how to handle it. It is just a regular job for us, and we take it one day at a time.
