Our workshop is down on Faizabad Road in the Shiv Nagar neighborhood. It is a pretty noisy place, mostly because of the power tools and the constant sound of cars coming in and out. We deal with tyres and general motor stuff at Khandoba Tyres And Motors. You will usually find us with grease all over our hands or trying to fix a machine that is acting up again. This isn't a clean, shiny showroom with a fancy lobby. It is a garage where things actually get fixed. The floor has seen a lot of oil spills over the years. We have stacks of tyres piled up in the corners nearly touching the ceiling. It gets pretty hot during the summer months, but we just keep the old fans going and get through the work. People from around Shiv Nagar know us well. They drop their vehicles off and we tell them when it will be ready to pick up. There isn't much small talk, just honest work and some heavy lifting. We don't use fancy computers for every little thing; a lot of it is just knowing how an engine should sound or seeing when a tyre is getting too worn out. Sometimes we sit on the wooden benches outside when it is quiet for a minute. Faizabad Road is always moving, so there is never a dull moment. We just do what we do and try to get people back on the road.
