Praveen Metals

Praveen Metals is situated at 1433, Chadchan. We are very close to the Hanuman Temple, so we hear the morning prayers every single day. The shop is basically a large shed filled with various metal items. It smells like iron and grease in here, which is something you just get used to after a week. We have stacks of pipes and sheets leaning against the walls. It is heavy work, and our hands are usually stained by the end of the day. The floor is concrete and has some cracks in it from moving heavy loads around. We don't have a fancy showroom. Customers just walk in, tell us what they need for their construction or repair work, and we go find it in the piles. In the summer, the metal roof makes it very hot, so we take a lot of breaks in the shade. We use an old wooden desk for all the billing and paperwork. Sometimes the temple bells are so loud we have to shout to be heard. It is a straightforward business. We don't spend money on decorations because that doesn't help us move metal. People in Chadchan know where we are, and we’ve been here long enough that we don’t need much more than our reputation. It is honest, physical work that keeps us busy from morning until the sun goes down.
