Even though the name says Delhi, we are actually operating out of the Hiremath Samsthan in Bhalki. That is in the Bidar district of Karnataka. It’s a bit of a distance from the capital, but we have our reasons for being based here. We run a cab service, so most of our time is spent looking at maps or talking to drivers on the phone. The office at the Samsthan is pretty quiet compared to the busy streets where the cars are actually driving. We try to keep track of all the vehicles and make sure they are where they need to be for the passengers. The pin code here is 585328. It is a local business at heart, even if we have that bigger name. Most of the drivers are local men who know every shortcut in the Bhalki taluka. We don't have a fancy app or a high-tech dispatch center; it’s mostly just people talking and making sure the cabs show up on time. Sometimes a car breaks down or a driver gets stuck in traffic, and we have to scramble to find a replacement. It’s just the daily grind of the transport business. We have been here in Bidar for a while now and people know they can find us at the Hiremath Samsthan if they need to talk to someone in person about a booking.
