We started Ganga Sona Organic Farmer Producer Company Limited right here at Gangadhar Sonaji Jedhe at Post Jatnandur. It’s a small operation run by local folks who care about organic farming. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there, just trying to get our organic produce to people who want it. The office is really just a room at the post in Jatnandur where we keep our records and meet up after being out in the fields. It gets a bit dusty and crowded when everyone shows up at once. We focus on growing things without using all those heavy chemicals you see elsewhere. It’s a lot more work, but it feels like the right way to handle the land. Our group is made up of neighbors and friends from around the village. We spend most of our time talking about soil quality and which crops are doing okay this season. There’s no big corporate ladder here, just a bunch of farmers trying to make a living. Sometimes the rain doesn't come when we need it, or the bugs get into the crops, and we just have to deal with it together. Being based at the address in Jatnandur makes it easy for everyone to drop by whenever they have a question or a problem. We just keep things moving one day at a time, making sure the organic stuff gets sorted and ready for sale. It keeps us all quite busy most weeks.
