Anmol Jaggery Unit is out in the countryside in Kishanpur, which is part of Andoor Village in the Bidar District. It is a long drive from the main city, and the roads can get a bit bumpy depending on the rain. We are surrounded by fields, mostly sugarcane, which makes sense for what we do here. The unit is more of a working shed than a proper office. It gets very hot near the boiling pits where the juice turns into jaggery, and there is always steam hanging in the air. We have a few workers from the village who have been with us for years, and they know the timing of the cooling process by heart. There is a lot of heavy lifting involved with moving the blocks around and loading them onto the trucks that come by. The ground is usually covered in a bit of dry bagasse, and you can hear the machines running from quite a distance away. We don't have a website or anything like that, just the physical unit where the work happens every day. It is hard work, and by the end of the day, everyone is pretty tired and covered in dust. We keep a small room for storage where it is a bit cooler. It is a practical business rooted in the local farming cycle, and we just focus on getting the daily production done before the sun sets over the Bidar hills.
