Roop Tiles

Our place is out in the Industrial Estate on Varangoav Road. Specifically, we are at Plot Number 43, in Shed Number 2 of the MIDC area. It is a noisy place to work because of all the other factories around us. We make tiles here at Roop Tiles, so there is always the sound of machines running or water spraying. The shed gets really hot in the summer months, but we are used to it by now. We spend most of our time in our work clothes, covered in a bit of clay or dust. It is not the kind of job where you wear a suit. We have a lot of space for the raw materials, but it fills up fast. We have been in this shed for a good while. The road outside has big trucks coming and going all day long, which makes it easy for us to ship things out but hard to pull out of the driveway sometimes. We have a small office corner where we keep the records and take our tea breaks. It is simple and practical. Most of the guys working here live nearby, so we are like a small community. We don't have a fancy showroom, so people usually just come straight to the factory to see what we are making. It is honest work and it keeps us busy from sunrise to sunset most days of the week.
