Pethologist - Dr. Dinesh G. Tanna

This is the pathology lab run by Pethologist - Dr. Dinesh G. Tanna out here in Kutch. We handle the blood tests and the urine samples that other doctors in the area ask for. It is a lot of microscope work and looking at slides. The lab is full of glass tubes and some small machines that beep once in a while. I spend most of my working day looking at samples. It is quiet, focused work. People usually come in very early in the morning, often before they have even had their breakfast. We take the samples and then tell them when they can come back to pick up their reports. Kutch is a very large area, so some of our patients travel a long way on the bus just to get their tests done here. I have been doing this for many years now. I like the precision of the job. You get to find out what is actually happening inside a person's body. The lab isn’t really a social place. It smells like cleaning chemicals and alcohol most of the time. We keep everything very clean, as you would expect. My desk is usually buried under a pile of reports that need my signature. I don’t get to talk to every patient for very long, just enough to get the details we need for the tests. We don’t do any advertising. Local clinics and doctors just send their patients over to us. It is a small operation with just a few helpers.
