M/S Jindal Saw Ltd, Samaghogha, Mundra

The office is over here in Bhuj, specifically in Ravi Darshan Apartment in Bhaveshwer Nagar. It’s on the fourth floor, room 401. We spend a lot of our time going back and forth between here and the main site at Samaghogha near Mundra. The drive isn’t too bad if you leave early, but the dust can be something else once the wind picks up in this part of Gujarat. We handle a lot of the administrative work and the paperwork for the saw mill side of things from this apartment office. It’s much quieter here than at the plant. Usually, there’s a stack of documents on the table waiting to be signed and filed. We have a small balcony where you can see the rooftops of Bhuj, which is nice when you need a break from the computer screen. The furniture is getting a bit old, but it’s comfortable enough for a long day of work. We don't really have a reception desk or anything, just a bell and some chairs for visitors. Most of the people who come by are truck drivers or supervisors from the Mundra site. It’s a very straightforward way of working. We just keep track of the logs and the output figures. Every day is pretty much the same routine of checking logs and making sure the transport is scheduled correctly. It is a bit basic, but it gets the job done well.
