Shyam Minerals

Shyam Minerals is located right near the Mirzarar Highway. It’s a dusty spot, being so close to the road and dealing with minerals all day. We spend most of our time crushing, sorting, and loading different types of stones and minerals. It’s a heavy job. The equipment we use is big and takes a lot of maintenance. You can always hear the sound of rock hitting metal. It’s not a quiet place to work, that’s for sure. We get a lot of trucks coming in from the highway to pick up loads. We have to be careful with the weights. If a truck is too heavy, it causes problems later. The sun hits the yard pretty hard in the afternoon. We don’t have a big office building. It’s more of a small shack where we keep the logs and the scales. Most of our work happens outside in the yard. We’ve been here for a good while, and the highway noise has just become background sound to us now. We aren't trying to be anything we aren't. We just provide minerals to the people who need them. It’s hard on the equipment and hard on the body. At the end of the day, we’re all covered in white or grey dust. We just wash off and come back the next morning. It’s a steady rhythm of work. The machines might be old, but they still get the job done right.
