Smit Plastic Industries

Our factory is out in Nerutriyatram, a bit of a trek for some, but it suits what we do. Down here in Kupma, things are a bit quieter than the main city hubs, which lets us focus on the work. We have these rows of machines that turn out plastic items all day long. It gets pretty warm inside, especially during the summer months when the sun hits the roof, but we’re used to it by now. The floor is always stacked high with bags of raw materials and finished goods waiting to be loaded onto the tempo. We don't really have a fancy reception area or anyone in a suit to greet you. Usually, you’ll just find one of us walking around with a clipboard checking the counts. It’s a straightforward operation. We started Smit Plastic Industries because we knew how to work the machines, and we’ve just stayed with it ever since. Most of our workers live nearby, so it feels like a local effort. Sometimes a machine breaks down and we spend the whole afternoon with our hands dirty trying to get it back online. That's just part of the job. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there, we just want to make sure the stuff we produce is what the customers asked for and that it gets delivered on time.
