Our small business, home design, is situated at Mariyam, 12-13 Surya Society in Mundra. It’s a pretty straightforward setup in a quiet part of town. We don’t have a big neon sign or a fancy lobby. It’s just us working out of a couple of rooms in the society. Mundra is a busy place because of the port and all, but our corner is usually calm enough to get some work done. We spend our days drawing up plans and talking about measurements. It’s not glamorous work, but it’s what we do. The desks are a bit old and we have stacks of folders everywhere, but there’s a system to the mess. Most people who come to see us are locals from the area. We usually offer them a glass of water and sit down at the big table to look at sketches. We don’t go in for big corporate talk. We just tell people what we can do and how long it’ll take. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a bit, but that’s just how it is here. We like being part of Surya Society. It feels like we are part of the neighborhood rather than just a shop. We keep things simple and just focus on getting the lines right. There is always someone here to answer the door if you stop by during the day to check on a project. We don't mind the interruptions.
