Silan (A Brand Of Jar Lights Pvt. Ltd. )

We are Silan, and we work out of the IIT Bhubaneswar Startup Centre in Samantapuri. It’s a bit of an interesting place because there are a lot of other small companies around us trying to figure things out too. Our focus is on jar lights and lighting setups. Since we are part of Jar Lights Pvt. Ltd., we have our own little corner filled with glass jars, LED strips, and soldering irons. It’s definitely not a corporate office. There are prototypes that didn't work sitting on the shelves and sketches pinned to the walls. We spend our time experimenting with how the light looks inside different types of glass. Sometimes we are here late at night because that’s the best time to see how the lights actually glow. The startup center has a bit of a campus feel to it, which is nice. We aren't a huge team, just a few people who like fiddling with electronics and design. Our desks are usually a mess of wires and components. We don't have a marketing department telling us what to say, we just make these lights and hope people find a use for them in their homes. It’s a lot of trial and error. We talk about the tech side of things over lunch at the local stalls nearby. It’s a simple life of making things and seeing what sticks in the small space we have here while we learn as we go.
