Ronit Spices

Our shop, Ronit Spices, is at Plot No.112 in Rasul Garh. We are very close to the Mangla Mandir, so we often hear the bells ringing throughout the day. The smell of turmeric and chili is always in the air here. It’s a simple building on a gravelly plot. We spend most of our time grinding things down or packing them into small bags. The machines we use are a bit loud and they make the floor vibrate when they are running. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who have been working together for years. The walls in the back are stained a bit yellow from all the spices, but that is just part of the work. Sometimes people from the neighborhood stop by because they know us from being near the temple. We don't have a website or anything like that; people just find us by coming to Plot 112. The rain can make the road outside a bit muddy, which makes loading the bags into the vans a bit difficult. We usually have a tea break around four in the afternoon when things slow down for a bit. It is honest work and we don't try to make it seem like anything more than it is. We just focus on getting the spices ready and making sure the bags are sealed properly before they go out. It is just the way the day goes here at Rasul Garh.
