Creative Fashion

Creative Fashion is located in Jharpada Laxmisagar. It’s a busy little spot and we are right in the thick of it. We spend most of our time around sewing machines and stacks of different fabrics. There are always threads on the floor and scraps of cloth everywhere. We don’t try to keep the place looking like a high-end boutique. It’s a workshop first. We get people coming in with all sorts of ideas for clothes. Some of them make sense and some of them are a bit wild. We just try to stitch things together so they don't fall apart. It gets pretty loud when all the machines are running at once. We talk over the noise and drink water from the earthen pot in the corner. Sometimes the electricity goes out and everything goes quiet, and we just sit outside for a bit until it comes back. We don't have a big fancy sign or anything. Most people know us because they live nearby or their cousins told them about us. It’s just a group of us who know how to sew and want to make a living doing it. We have our good days where everything fits perfectly and bad days where we have to rip out all the seams and start again. That is just how it is.
