Kalinda Manpower

We set up Kalinda Manpower right here in Nayapalli, Bhubaneswar, on the third floor of our building. It is a pretty good spot because the Shiv Temple is just a short walk away, so there is always a lot of activity and people around. Getting up to the third floor keeps us fit since we do it several times a day. We spend most of our mornings talking to people who are looking for work. Bhubaneswar is growing fast and there are always new buildings going up or offices opening that need staff. We don't do anything too complicated, we just keep a list of people who are looking for jobs like cleaning, driving, or working in a warehouse. Then when a business owner calls us, we see who is free to start. It’s a lot of phone calls and writing things down in big ledgers. The weather here can get really hot, so we usually have the fan going full blast while we work in the afternoons. We know the local area well and the people who live around Nayapalli often stop by just to say hello or ask if we’ve heard of any new openings for their relatives. It’s not a corporate setup at all, just us in a small office trying to help folks find a way to earn a living. We’ve been here for a bit and plan to stay as long as there is work to be found in the city.
