Indian Metals Ferro Alloys Ltd. is located right in the Imfa Building, and that’s where we spend most of our daylight hours. Working with ferro alloys means dealing with a lot of heat and heavy materials every single day. The building itself is a sturdy place that has seen a lot of years go by. You can hear the hum of the ventilation system the moment you walk through the front doors. We have a lot of paperwork to deal with in the front office, but the real action happens where the metal is processed. It’s a lot of coordination between the teams to make sure the alloys are handled correctly. Some days the lobby is quiet, and other days it’s packed with people coming in and out for meetings. We don’t really do much in the way of fancy stuff here. The desks are older and the coffee machine in the breakroom is a bit finicky, but it gets the job done when we need a caffeine fix. Most of the staff has been around for a long time, so we all know each other’s names and how we like to work. The Imfa Building is a bit of a landmark around here, so it’s easy to give directions to anyone who is visiting. We just focus on the metal and making sure the shipments are ready when the trucks pull up to the loading area. It's steady work and keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday.
