Ikat Exports Pvt. Ltd. is located in the Mehers Building at 1 Janpath 1 Janpath. Being right on Janpath means we are in the middle of everything. It’s a famous street, but our office inside the building is much quieter than the sidewalk outside. We handle mostly export orders, so there’s a lot of back-and-forth emails and phone calls throughout the day. The Mehers Building has been around for a while and has a bit of an old-school feel to it, which we like. We don’t have a big fancy showroom with bright lights. Most of our space is used for storing samples and keeping track of the shipping documents. It can be a bit crowded when a new batch of fabrics arrives, and we have to find a spot for every roll. The staff here is small, just a few people who have been doing this for years. We aren't a corporate giant with a thousand employees. We just know our fabrics and we know how to get them where they need to go. Janpath is always busy with tourists and shoppers, but we mostly stay tucked away in the office doing the boring but necessary work. There’s a tea stall nearby that we visit probably three times a day. It’s a simple routine, and it works for us. We don't need a lot of bells and whistles to do our jobs. Just sitting at our desks and making sure everything is moving smoothly is enough for us.
