Bhagaban Pharma

Bhagaban Pharma is located right on West Bindu Road, a street that seems to always be under repair or just full of cows and scooters. We’ve been here long enough that we don't even notice the noise anymore. The shop is tucked between a tea stall and a hardware store. It’s a narrow building, so we had to build the shelves all the way up to the ceiling to fit everything. We use a shaky old ladder to reach the top rows where we keep the stuff that doesn't sell as fast. It’s a family-run place, so there’s always some lunch being cooked in the back room and the smell of spices mixes with the medicinal scent of the shop. West Bindu Road gets very muddy when the monsoon hits, which makes it a pain for the distributors to drop off our supplies. We often have to go out with umbrellas to help them unload. We don’t have a website or anything like that; people just know we’re here by the blue sign above the door. Most of our day is spent writing down orders and checking the ledger. Sometimes we make mistakes and have to recount everything twice, but that’s just part of it. It’s a basic life, and we like being on this road because we know all the other shopkeepers. We help each other out when someone needs change or a hand moving something heavy. It's just a regular local business.
