This medical store is on Plot 15 in Unit-4, which is in Madhusudan Nagar in Bhubaneshwar. We are quite close to the Apollo Pharmacy, just a short walk away. Being in this part of Bhubaneshwar means we get a lot of people passing by on their way to the bigger hospitals or their homes. The shop is not huge but we have filled the walls with shelves from top to bottom. I spend a lot of time climbing the small ladder to reach the medicines kept on the higher racks. We keep all the usual stuff like bandages, syrups, and tablets for blood pressure or sugar. The counter is made of glass and it has a few scratches from all the years of use. In the summer, Bhubaneshwar gets really hot so we have a big ceiling fan that runs all day long. It makes a bit of a clicking sound but it keeps us cool. We open up early in the morning before the sun gets too high. Most of our customers are elderly people from the neighborhood who have been coming to us for their monthly supplies for a long time. We do not have any modern computer systems for everything, we still write many things down in our ledger books. It is a quiet place and we just focus on getting the right medicine to the people who need it. We try to keep the stock full so nobody leaves empty-handed.
