Trf Ltd. A Tata Enterprise, Jamshedpur.

We are set up in Room Number E/59, right inside the Bhushan Power & Steel Ltd premises over in Thelkolei. This is the Jharsuguda branch for Trf Ltd, which is a Tata Enterprise out of Jamshedpur. Working inside a massive steel plant like this is a whole different experience. It’s loud, it’s industrial, and there is always something moving outside the window. Our little office is where we handle the specific needs of this site. It’s not a place for fancy suits or polished floors; we usually have a bit of dust on our shoes from walking across the yard. We focus on the technical details and making sure the equipment we’re responsible for is running correctly. It can be a bit isolated out here in Thelkolei, but we have a good group of people who look out for each other. We spend our days going through checklists and talking to the site engineers. Sometimes the power cuts out for a second when the big machines start up, but we just wait for the backup to kick in and keep going. It’s hard work in a tough environment, but it’s what we do. We aren't here to make things sound better than they are; it’s just a rugged industrial job in the heart of Orissa. Everyone here knows the drill and we just get on with it.
