Sumitomo Construction Co. Ltd

Our office for Sumitomo Construction Co. Ltd is tucked away near Behera Steel Co in Cuttack. It’s a bit of a specific spot to find if you aren’t from around here, but once you see the steel company, you’re basically there. We share the space or work closely with Satya Brata Das and Sujata Das. It is a very local setup. We deal with construction matters, which usually means a lot of dusty boots and maps spread out over old wooden tables. Cuttack is an old city with narrow streets, so getting materials in and out can be a bit of a headache sometimes. We don't have a big marketing department or anyone to write fancy letters. We just talk to the workers and the suppliers directly. Most days are spent checking on sites or looking at blueprints that have seen better days. The humidity in Orissa can be tough on the paperwork, so we try to keep everything filed away as neatly as we can manage. It’s a straightforward way of living and working. We know the people in the neighborhood and they know us. We aren't doing anything revolutionary, just building things and making sure the foundations are solid. It’s hard work, but it is what we know how to do. We just stay focused on the task at hand and try to avoid any unnecessary delays. Usually, we end the day by cleaning up the office and making a list for tomorrow morning.
