Store Keeper

I work as the Store Keeper for Thriveni Earthmovers (P) Ltd at the Guali Ironore Mines. We are based out of Topadih in the Barbil area of Keonjhar. It is a rugged place to work because of all the mining activity around us. My name is Kishor Kumar Rout and I spend my days surrounded by heavy machinery parts and mining gear. The red dust from the iron ore gets into everything so I spend a lot of time cleaning the parts before they go out. It is a huge responsibility keeping track of equipment for a big operation like this. We are right in the heart of the mining belt. The weather can be tough here especially when it rains and the roads turn to thick mud. I have a small office near the main pit entrance where I keep all the logs. I make sure the drivers sign for every piece of kit they take out. We don't have much in the way of comforts but there is a kettle for tea. The guys working the machines depend on me to have the spares ready when something breaks down at three in the morning. It is not a typical nine to five job at all. I live close by so I am usually available if there is an emergency at the mine. It is loud and dusty but it is what we do.
