M/S Karan Construction

Our office is located at Quarter Number E 22/2 in Burla, which is part of the Sambalpur district in Orissa. It is a quiet residential area for the most part, but we run M/S Karan Construction right from here. The space is basically just a couple of small rooms filled with site plans, various tools, and a little bit of dust from the local projects we handle. Sambalpur is a growing area, and there is always some kind of building work or renovation going on nearby. We spend a lot of our time out at the actual construction sites, so the office is often empty during the middle of the day. We have been around this part of Orissa for quite a while now. We do not have a big team, just a few of us who know how to handle the equipment and the local labor. It is not a corporate setup with long meetings and fancy powerpoint slides. We usually talk about the work over a hot cup of tea and get things sorted quickly. Sometimes the weather in Burla makes things difficult, especially when the monsoon rains hit hard, but we manage to stay on track. The quarters are older government-style buildings, so they have a very specific look to them. We like being based here because it is close to where the work happens.
