M/S Jindal Steel

M/S Jindal Steel operates out of Namkhana, down in the South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. We are located right by the Higher Secondary 2000 Namkhana Union High School, which makes it easy for people to find our gate. It is a bit of a trek for some, but it’s where we are. Dealing with steel in this climate isn't always easy, especially with the humidity coming off the water, but we make it work. Our days start early, usually before the school bells even start ringing. The local guys come in, do their shifts, and head home. There’s nothing flashy about how we do things. It’s just heavy lifting and making sure the inventory matches the books. Sometimes things get a bit messy, but that’s a steel yard for you. We’ve got that 82.5 mark on our address, though mostly we just tell people we are near the high school. It’s a quiet enough area for the most part, except for the trucks moving in and out. We don’t have any big speeches to give about what we do. We just supply steel and try to stay organized. If you ever come down this way, you'll see the stacks of metal. It’s honest work, and it keeps the lights on for everyone here in the Namkhana area. We just stick to what we know and don't worry about the rest of the world. It’s a living.
