You can find us in Somanathpur, which is in the Balasore district of Orissa. We operate out of a space near Remeuna. The address is under Anadi Ranjan Behera’s name, which is how most locals identify our location. It’s a coastal district, so it can get quite muggy and hot. We’re involved in the stainless steel business, mostly handling the logistical side of things for this part of the state. The office is a modest building with a tin roof in some parts. When it rains, it gets quite loud inside, making it hard to hear on the phone. We have a few old desks and some wooden chairs for when people come in to discuss deliveries. Most of our work is done on paper first before we enter it into the systems. There’s a small market nearby where we get our lunch and snacks. It’s a very tight-knit community here, and we know most of the people who live and work around Somanathpur. We don’t bother with fancy decorations or expensive office gear. We just need a place to sit, some light, and our files. Every morning we open up, sweep the front, and start going through the manifest for the day. It’s a steady job and we’ve been doing it this way for many years now. We just focus on getting the steel shipments organized and out the door on time.
