Hotel Keshari is at 113, Station Square, which is pretty much exactly where you’d expect a place with that name to be. Being right by the station means we never really have a quiet moment. There is always the sound of the trains, the announcements, and people shouting for rickshaws right outside. The hotel itself is a busy place because people are constantly coming and going at odd hours depending on when their train gets in. We’ve got a fairly simple setup here. The lobby is often full of bags and people waiting for their platforms to be called. We don't have any high-tech systems, just the usual logbooks and a set of keys for every room. The rooms are built to be practical; they’ve seen a lot of travelers over the years. We spend most of our shift making sure the water is hot and the rooms are cleared out quickly so the next person can move in. It can be a bit chaotic sometimes when a lot of people arrive at once, but we just handle it one by one. It’s not a fancy destination, it’s a station hotel. We don't try to hide that. We just provide a room and a bed for people passing through Bhubaneswar. It’s a lot of work keeping up with the pace of the square, but we’ve been doing it for a while now.
