Gammon India Limited

We are out here at Kalinga Nagar in Orissa, working right near the Jindal Stainless Limited site. Gammon India Limited has a presence here on the Dubari Jajpur Road. It’s a heavy industrial area, so there is usually a lot of dust and noise, but that is where the work is located. We spend most of our days either on the site or in the temporary offices we’ve set up nearby. It’s definitely not like a city office with central air conditioning and quiet hallways. It is much more hands-on than that. We are surrounded by large-scale projects and big machinery all day. The location is very practical for the type of work we do. Jajpur Road is a main lifeline for getting materials and people in and out of the area. It’s a rugged environment to work in. We wear our boots and keep our hard hats close at hand. There isn't any fancy furniture in our office, just what we need to track the progress of the various projects. It gets very hot, and the work days can be quite long, but this is the real heart of the operation. We see the big trucks rolling by the window all day long. Being this close to the action means we can stay on top of things as they happen on the ground. It’s a no-nonsense setup for a no-nonsense job. We don't have much time for anything else.
