We are currently working out of the M & R Complex over in Damanjodi, specifically for the Nalco 2nd Phase Expansion Project. Being in the Koraput district of Orissa means we are quite a distance from the main cities, but this is where the work is. The site is busy all the time because of the expansion. We are part of the Engineers India Limited team here. It’s a government setup, so things follow a very specific routine every day. We spend most of our time at the site or in the temporary office space we have set up in the complex. The landscape around here is quite different from the coastal areas, with the hills and the red soil. It can get very dusty when the trucks are moving back and forth between the different phases of the project. Our office isn't anything special to look at, just desks, computers, and a lot of technical manuals. We wear our safety gear for most of the day because we have to go out and check on the progress of the expansion regularly. It's hard work and the weather can be a bit unpredictable, sometimes it rains for days and everything slows down. But then the sun comes out and we are back at it. We don't have much in the way of amenities nearby, so we mostly just focus on getting the project requirements met. It is a long haul but the project is moving along steadily despite the challenges.
