You’ll find us out in Keruna, which is near Chhatrapada in the Jajpur district of Orissa. It’s a quiet area compared to the big cities, and we like it that way. We’ve been operating from this site for a good number of years. It’s a basic setup. We don't have air conditioning in every room or expensive furniture. Most of our space is dedicated to the fire safety equipment we handle. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and manual checks. The weather out here can be a bit rough, especially during the monsoon season. We’ve had to patch the roof a couple of times, but that’s just part of maintaining an old building. Most of our workers live in the nearby villages. We aren't just colleagues; we’re neighbors who know each other's families. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just take a break until it comes back on. We don't have a big corporate structure or a bunch of managers in suits. It’s just us doing the work that needs to be done. The roads around Jajpur can be quite bumpy, so our trucks take a beating. We’ve learned to handle the repairs ourselves most of the time. We don't have a fancy mission statement on the wall. We just show up, do the job, and go home to our families. It’s a practical life. If you need us, the gate is usually open from early morning until sunset.
