Laxmi Eco Bricks

We are based out of Village Barasahi, right here in the Barasahi tehsil. Laxmi Eco Bricks is a relatively small outfit that we run on our own patch of land. Our family has lived in this village for many generations, so starting up a business right here felt like the most natural thing for us to do. We make what people call eco-bricks, which is basically just a way of saying we don't use those old-fashioned kiln methods that put out so much thick smoke into the air. It is a quiet enough place to work most of the time, although the machinery we use can get a bit loud when it is running at full speed. We don't have a fancy storefront or a big sign to attract strangers. If you want to talk to us, you generally have to come all the way down into the village. We spend most of our daylight hours out in the sun, making sure the bricks are drying and setting the way they should. It involves a whole lot of physical labor, like lifting heavy molds and moving the finished products around the yard. We don't have a marketing team or anyone to write up clever advertisements for us. We just rely on word of mouth from the people who live in the surrounding villages. We try to keep our prices at a fair level so the locals can afford them. It’s just us doing what we can here.
