It’s a bit confusing for people who aren't from around here, but we've made it work. Our daily life involves a lot of sorting through small things. We use magnifying glasses quite a bit, which can make your eyes pretty tired by the time four o’clock rolls around. The office is pretty basic, with some metal filing cabinets that have definitely seen better days. We don’t really go in for the polished corporate look because that’s just not who we are. We’re just local people who know a thing or two about stones. There’s usually a bit of a breeze if we leave the door open, but the dust comes in too, so it’s always a trade-off. We have a small radio that plays low in the background while we work. It helps the time pass when we have a lot of repetitive tasks to finish up. We don't have any big speeches to give about what we do. We just show up, handle the inventory, and make sure the packages are wrapped up correctly before they leave for the mail. It’s a quiet existence for the most part, and we’re quite happy with that. We know the people in the nearby shops and we say hello when we go out for a snack or a glass of water.
